Quality Time

So you might have noticed my blog has been a little quiet this week. I’ve been SO busy at work, plus we’ve had lots going on outside of work as well, from working on our home, to hosting family dinners, to my friend’s wedding NEXT Saturday, so I’ve been a little tied up, to say the least.

Anyway, although this last week has kept me moving, it has also been delightfully fun, starting with last Thursday when we invited Billy’s family over to join us for a mini-cookout, using our new grill and patio set. Billy cooked up some steaks on the grill (for his Mama because she mentioned to him that she loves steak on the grill. I married a good one) and I made a pasta salad and some corn on the cob.

Dinner was lovely and it was so nice to spend some time with our family. Plus, as an added bonus, there was a Bruins game on, which was perfect for Billy, as he loves nothing more than to watch a game with his Pops. It is actually hilarious watching them view a game together because they both sit uncomfortably close to the television and have pretty much the same mannerisms for every move they make. Ever seen Sex and the City the movie, when Brady and Steve are sleeping together and they are laying in the exact same position? That is a great example of Bill and his Dad. Same person, 30 some odd years apart.

Need I say more?

On to Saturday morning, when my friend, the one getting married in less than two weeks, decided to host a little brunch at her house. I keep telling her how impressed I am with the fact that she has any time or the mental capacity to plan a brunch, as I was a lunatic who couldn’t juggle any more balls as my wedding approached.  She is just one of those gals that can pretty easily do it all. Oh, how I dream to be like that.

Brunch was delicious. Cait made an egg white frittata with asparagus and mushrooms, which we all appreciated because us gals are watching our waist lines as the day that we have to fit into our dresses fast approaches.

From there we sat out in Cait’s beautiful yard and helped her with a quick wedding project. It was SO nice to spend some time with my girls, and as I said, to see the future bride in such good shape so close to her wedding.

I'll be back soon to post on a couple other things we've got going on.

Until then, have a smashing Thursday friends!
