Happy Everything

As my above title states, Happy Everything folks. Happy Monday. Happy belated Cinco de Mayo. Happy Nurses Week. Happy Everything.

Today is another one of those Mondays at which I am feeling particularly refreshed and ready for the work week. I take in every second of these Mondays, because they are few and far between.

Having said that, I’ve been posting a lot of topics lately, at which I’ve been saying I’d provide updates on. So I thought I’d take advantage of this quiet Monday morning and queue you in on the status of a couple things, while also sharing a few new developments.

First of all, I have to wish my all of my nursing friends out there a very happy nurses week! Two of my very close friends are nurses and I just think the world of what they do and how committed they are to helping people. I’m always so impressed how quickly they jump up when they see someone that needs some type of medical attention, not that it happens often, but it has and I’m always very proud of them. So here’s to all you nurses out there!

Jasmine
Okay, so now for some updates. I’ll start with our pup, Jasmine. If you read this post, you know we were having a tough time gaining control of our German Shepherd and as a result, we sent her off to a two week training program. Oh. My. Gosh. What a difference the training made. I am not exaggerating when I say it has changed the quality of our lives. She is exactly the same, but with some sense of respect and understanding that we’re in charge. It is just wonderful. If you have a dog that you’re struggling with, I’d definitely recommend considering some type of program similar to ours. Let me know if you need suggestions!

Running
Billy and I have not booked a race yet (nervous), but we’ve come up with a plan. Ever heard of Hal Higdon? His site has some really great printable resource tools as far as mapping out a training plan for a 10k (or any distance). Here is it if you’re interested. We’ll be following the below.
Yard Work
All of the credit goes to Billy on this update. He has been working his butt off to make our yard look nice and he is really doing a great job, considering the people who owned our home previously did not give him a great starting point. Here are some pictures of his edging and mulch jobs.  I’ll be out there planting flowers this week!

This is what we started with:

Tomorrow's Teaser
And lastly, I had a really interesting dream last weekend about repainting the entire first floor of our home (which I realize makes me sound crazy). Anyways, I certainly will not be executing the entire dream, but it did get me thinking, and perhaps peaking around Pinterest (I said I am a full supporter of the site!) to find some color ideas. I’ll be sharing those tomorrow!

Until then, have a splendid Monday and if you see a nurse, remember to say thanks!
