To start with some weekend updates, we bought a patio set, grill and also picked up some flowers for our newly mulched beds! Talk about a productive weekend, huh? I’ll share some pictures later this week. More to come on all of that!
But for now, let’s focus in on Mother’s Day. We have plans with the other Mrs. Glynn to celebrate her later this week, but Sunday night we spent some time with my mom and siblings, which was just lovely. I invited everyone over to our place and decided to make chicken parmagiana for everyone (you know how I just love my pasta dishes).
Everything went smoothly and as always, it was nice to spend some time with my family. My big sister, Genevieve, has actually been in Germany since February and will be there until August, and you know that my Dad is in Florida (he comes home for the summer in three weeks!), so I relish any family time that I can get!
My Mom, brother, and future sister-in-law, Christina and future brother-in-law, Jay (my siblings are going to kill me for writing that) came over to join in the fun. Jay also brought he and my sister’s pup, Ryder, over to play with Jasmine, so it was a full house, just how I prefer it.
P.S. Billy is not in the above picture because he continuously left the room to watch the Bruins game, anyone surprised?
Everyone said the food was delicious, which makes me happy, as I am always so nervous to cook for my mother. I’ve mentioned before she could cook just about anyone under the table, so I always want to show her that she successfully passed the gene onto me! Challenge accepted.
Probably the best part of the evening was being able to connect with my sister via video chat on Skype. I haven’t heard her voice since February, so it was just wonderful to talk to her for a couple minutes. She has always dreamed of studying abroad, so I’m thrilled for her. She’s having the time of her life over there, but I cannot wait for her to come home. Miss you, Gen!
Lastly, in honor of my amazing mother, here is a throwback of our first Christmas together. Love you Mom!
