If you’re friends with any of us on Facebook, you already know we ventured off to Newport, Rhode Island to celebrate the big hoorah! And what a hoorah it was.
Mimosas before we hit the road!
All of the ladies invited to the bachelorette party had a Facebook string of messages going for the last couple of months at which we worked up some really great ideas for the weekend. The first being that we would not tell Cait about who was coming and the second was a pretty challenging list of action items that she was to complete by the end of the weekend, which as you can imagine, was pretty hysterical to witness.
And unbeknownst to the rest of us, Caitlin’s sister, Kerry, the MOH, had a plan of her own to greet all guests with a welcoming kit in their rooms filled with all the great makings of a bachelorette party – champagne, lipstick, noise makers and Team Bride t-shirts. Isn’t she the sweetest?
The rest of the weekend consisted of all of those girly things that us ladies love to do like laughing, playing ridiculous games, eating yummy food, hopping on and off of pedicabs, shopping and getting majorly drunk at a winery. (I think I was actually the only one who was drunk). Whoops. Oh, and Caitlin did what all bachelorettes must do. Rode a bull, in a bar, in a white dress. And somehow, she looked absolutely beautiful and classy doing so? How does she do it?

Another wonderful portion of the weekend was that Caitlin’s Mom, Aunt Joyce and wedding officiant, Maryanne (all who grew up together) joined us for the party! It was SO nice to have them there; and believe it or not, Cait’s aunt was the keeper of that infamous list of items Caitlin had to execute – and boy did Joyce do a great job at keeping Caitlin on task.
I can’t believe her bachelorette party and shower are over and the wedding is now just three weeks away! My, oh my, where does the time go? These last two weekends were so much fun and as I said about her shower, it was so nice to see Caitlin glowing with happiness.
I just can’t wait for the big day! Cheers to you Miss McElligott!
