Back At It

Well hello out there world. It has certainly been a while since I’ve put my thoughts to my keyboard. And let me say, I’ve really missed doing so. This little blog of mine has grown to be one of the things in life I look forward to most, but contrastingly, it also is one of the things that quickly falls to the bottom of the totem pole when life gets hectic. And life has certainly been hectic lately. Hectic in a good way, that is.

So where the heck have I been? Well for starters, one of my dear friends got married just about two weeks ago now. The wedding was beautiful and I already have my post written and ready to share with you all. Coming soon.

But besides that, what else have us Glynns been up to?

The Birth of Our Fire Pit:
Yes, our fire pit that I introduced just about two months ago is alive and well. We lit it up for the maiden voyage and my girlfriends were kind enough to come over and enjoy s’mores with us to celebrate. Bill and I also have spent a few nights out there on our own, listening to music and relaxing. Now if this rainy weather could just subside, we could get back out there.

Décor, Décor
The home décor projects never end, which I guess is fun right? In the past month, I’ve had a stack picture frames and pictures sitting in a pile in our office, waiting for me to hang them. Sadly, only one of them has made it to the wall, but I’ll get there. One thing at a time, right?

The lonely picture that made it to the wall..

I’ve also recently discovered the magic of spray paint. I actually blogged about this ugly, old lamp that we had, which I think most people would have just thrown out. I decided to give the thing one more chance and bring some life back to it with some gold spray paint. Check it out below.

Billy thinks it looks like the candle stick from Beauty and the Beast, which I have to say, I concur.

Oh to be naturally thin..
It feels like trying to eat better and workout more have been the only things on my mind for months now. I, of course, was trying to get my butt ready for that bridesmaid dress I had to fit into, which I think was a success, but now it’s all about the bathing suit season. I wish pasta, cheese and wine were what you had to consume to be healthy. I’ll keep dreaming, but in the meantime, we’ve been eating TONS of veggies and high protein dinners. I went a whole week having egg whites and asparagus on a whole wheat English muffin for dinner – sounds fun, huh?  (It actually is pretty yummy. I love asparagus).

Family and Friends:
My Dad is back in the northeast for the summer. We’ve been loving spending time with him and having him around. I’m not sure who is more excited though - my husband or me.  It is scary (and lovely) how well those two get along.

Caught in the act of sharing their dinners with each other.
I am pumped, not just to see my Dad, but because I fully plan to take advantage of his home improvement skills. We have a lot to do at our house and although we want to do it on our own, it never hurts to have an instructor around, right?

And lastly, one of my best girlfriends was also home for an entire week (she lives in New Jersey), so I was delighted to spend a couple days with her. She, Billy and I went on a little date to the local bowling alley where Courtney and I drank while Billy bowled. Just kidding. We did also bowl, but we were pretty brutal, weren't we Court?

And to wrap this up, I had the absolute pleasure of doing dinner and a movie with my girlfriends Friday night - and by movie, I mean watching our wedding video, which, as you might imagine, was quite fun. I could relive our wedding everyday if I was allowed. The four of us laughed, cried, then laughed again watching the video. It was a perfect Friday night date with my girls.

That's all for today, folks. Have a great Wednesday and thanks for tuning in!
