In honor of throwback Thursday, I thought I’d share some stories about my
other, other half and one my favorite people in the world, my big sister, Genevieve.
In our family Genevieve has always been the little wanderer. From my parents having constant panic attacks whenever we were at heavily populated events because nine times out of ten, Genevieve went missing (only to be found in the most random places possible), to current times, at which my sister has jetted off to live in Germany for 6 months. She has always been wandering, keeping us all on our toes as to where she might end up.
Although I miss her dearly, her globe-trotting antics and fearless approach to life are probably the things I admire most about her. I find it funny that two people who came from the same parents can come out SO differently. One is a complete baby who gets nervous leaving the borders of Kingston, while the other is most comfortable in some exotic location, far, far way. How’d that happen?
My parents always describe our family circa the 1990s to look something like this; I would be sucking my thumb, holding onto one of my parents legs, my brother would be asking a lot of questions that only someone about 10 years older than him would even think to ask (I can’t wait to tell you all about him in another post) and Genevieve was missing. Can you picture it? Pretty funny.
Anyways, since we were little, my sister has always been my role model and everything I wanted to be. She is a beautiful, spontaneous, extremely kind and selfless type of girl who lives life to the fullest. To say I’ve missed her while she’s been off experiencing the opportunity of a lifetime, traveling all over Europe (and even to Africa) is an understatement.
Miss you TONS Gen. Can’t wait to hear all about your adventures when you return. And hopefully I can join you on the next time around.
