Friday:
I came home Friday afternoon to Billy cooking steak and veggies on the grill. It was delicious and of course, a great way to start the weekend. And pah-leease check out his food presentation skills below. Not too shabby, eh?
From there, my girls and I headed to opening night of the Marshfield Fair. I have to say, I hadn't been in years and wasn't sure what I was in for, but it was actually so much fun. We grabbed ourselves a spot on the bleachers and awed over the madness of the demolition derby, which is actually highly entertaining.
Next, we spent some time feeding the animals and ooohing and ahhhing
over how cute they are. And then we wrapped up the night with a serious
calorie fest caused by fried dough, a bloomin onion and french fries.
Notice I did not say anything about going on a single ride? Yes, we are
getting older.
Saturday:
My Saturday started off with my sister and Jay coming over after their long venture home from Europe. As I've mentioned a couple times, I hadn't seen Genevieve since February, so you can imagine my excitement to finally see her. I am so happy to have you home, Gen!
The rest of my Saturday was spent parked on Saquish beach. We jumped in the Cameron boat and headed over there with a big group of people, lots of food and plenty of booze. It was one of those perfect summer days that make you anguish over the fact that there are only weeks left to this season.
Probably the best part of the day was being a spectator to the game of can jam. My husband and my best friend's husband have an on-going oakie/can jam rivalry going on and the amount of shit talking they throw back and forth is hilarious.
I have to say a big thank you to the Cameron family for always welcoming us on their boat! I think we've started a great tradition and I'm looking forward to doing this for years to come!
Sunday:
And to wrap this thing up, Billy and I went out for a spontaneous lunch date at Sam Diegos in downtown Plymouth yesterday. We sat outside and did some serious people watching, which is one of our favorite pastimes. We then headed over to Lowes, (which I feel like we should just move into based on the amount of time we spend there), to get the materials to refurbish our dressers in our bedroom. Pictures to come.
That's all for me today. I hope this post will help you also trick yourself into thinking it is still the weekend. Cheers!
Love Always,
A
