Weekend Happenings

I have to start today’s post by wishing my lady, Miss Jamie Cameron, a very happy birthday indeed. Cheers to your 27th James!

So now onto this past weekend’s happenings, which actually were pretty much celebrating Jamie’s birthday, but there were a couple other things to note I suppose.

First off, Billy and I began our weekend dropping our year and a half old German shepherd off at a two-week training program. It was tough; I felt like I was leaving my child at college. Why did we do this, you ask? Well, being the young couple that we are, Billy and I ventured out last year and got our first dog together. Jasmine is a beautiful, silver and white, energetic shepherd. She really is a great dog, and a perfect addition to our family. Anyhow, somewhere along the way, we lost control of this gorgeous young girl and needed some help. She’ll be there for the next two weeks, where the trainer will re-establish humans as the “pack leaders” and will bring her back to the mindset of being a dog. Although it is tough, I can’t wait to see the results. I’ll share some updates upon her return!

Next up – some home décor updates! I really wish I could take some better pictures, but I am using my phone to capture this stuff, so I apologize in advance. If you read this post, you know I referenced an ugly lamp in my living room a couple of times. Well, I found a lamp, and on sale too! I love a good bargain. I also did some updates to our fireplaces and a shelf in our living room. Pics below.

Still haven't removed the plastic wrap! Making sure I like the lamp there for a couple days!?

Onto Saturday evening, at which we rallied together in downtown Plymouth to ring in Jamie’s 27th (two days early, but who is counting). I don’t care how old we get, there is still nothing like getting dolled up and hitting the town with old friends. The evening started at Jamie’s apartment, followed by hopping around to some bars in Plymouth and then ended at 5:30 in the morning, back at Jamie’s apartment. I can’t remember the last time I was awake until 5 am, but sleeping sacrifices have to be made when your best friend grows another year older, don’t ya think?

And the weekend closed with a very lazy Sunday. Billy arrived home after being away at a hockey tournament with a gash on his nose and two black eyes. Gash and all, you can always tell Bill is renewed after spending some time on the ice again, so I was happy to see him back at it. We had planned to spend the afternoon doing some yard work, but that got trumped by spending it on the couch catching up on some relaxation time, after fun but exhausting weekends for the both of us!

Happy Monday! Happy end of tax season! And happy birthday James!  xoxo
