Boston

Hello out there. My blog has been silent for the last two days, as I just found it difficult to write anything after what happened in Boston on Monday. It was just too close to home and I think we’re all still a bit in shock.

My husband ran the marathon three years ago and my friends and I were standing very close to where the bombs went off as we waited for him to cross the finish line. It was an exciting, beautiful day in the city, very similar to Monday’s atmosphere – and I just simply can’t imagine what it must have been like for the runners and spectators this year.

My heart goes out to all of the victims, emergency responders, volunteers and to the runners that got up that day with the excitement to accomplish something incredible - all who deserved an entirely different ending to their days.

I watched the Bruins game last night with Billy (which I very rarely do) to celebrate our city. As everyone knows by now, the national anthem was absolutely incredible to watch, and better yet, to hear the crowd chanting for USA and Boston, rather than just the Bruins, was even better. We certainly do have an amazing city and it feels good to be a part of it.

Here’s to Boston.
