Time for Some Travel

Happy Friday ladies and gents!

I am so ready for this weekend, not because I am burnt out by the week (I am tired though – so much for being energized as I mentioned in Monday’s post), but because tomorrow morning my hubby and I will be hopping on a plane to visit my Dad in Florida.

My Pops bought his house in Vero Beach, Florida about three years ago now and would you believe it when I say, Bill and I are the only ones that haven’t gone to visit yet? The last couple of years were crazy with planning our wedding and then buying a house, so unfortunately we were just never able to swing it.

Luckily for us, my Dad is what most people call a “snowbird” meaning he comes home for the summers and then heads back in the early-fall every year. Although we all miss him lots and lots, I have to say that having him down there has been so nice because he just absolutely loves it. He lives a pretty cool life down there filled with lots of friends, kayaks, boats, farmers markets and sunshine.

So as you might have guessed, I am excited for this trip for two reasons; one because I cannot wait to see my Dad, and two, I should get some pretty great material ready for some upcoming blog posts.

Having said that, I guess now is a good time to mention I am deathly afraid of sharks. I know this seems random, but of course my Dad plans to take us to the beach and we will probably go out on his kayak, which may or may not be a death sentence for us. You see, when my older sister visited my Dad, the life guards had to evacuate everyone from the water because there was a seven-foot shark gracing the shores with its presence.  Not my idea of a fun day at the beach.

Anyways, back to the point, which is that I hope to share some fun stories and photos with you all next week about our trip. Here are a couple pictures of my Dad’s adventurous life down there.

And finally one of me and my Pops at my wedding. Can't wait to see you tomorrow, Dad!

Have a splendid weekend friends!
